sunflower takeover

We probably could have planted less sunflowers in our garden, but the kids got a hold of the birdseed this spring and were tossing it around with such gleeful abandon, who in their right mind would stop them?

This was our first year growing garlic.  We tucked cloves in the ground late last fall with hope and a prayer, and were finally able to reap our harvest, 8 months later.  We are hooked!  A very satisfying experience.
